Week 2
We started off the week with walk-over survey at KCV and then learned some pace & compass mapping that continued into Tuesday. After that we learned to sharpen our equipment and set up a 2m x 2m unit then set them up at CBHC. Wednesday we started digging our units. Two got finished on Friday, the other three are almost done but we got slowed down when we started finding things like features and artifacts.
Monday walkover at KCV - action shots!!!
Here's some of what we found --- a lot of little pieces of pottery (some medium sized ones) - ground stone - flakes, a stone drill, and some Madison points

Our eastern units started generating some interesting stuff by Friday. Units 1 through three each have at least one feature - and each feature is generating some interesting material. F17-03 has the most diversity with lots of pottery and faunal material - here's a small sampling - including a decorated sherds - some of the other pottery and a worked antler.
